Goto units are special. They reproduce music in the most natural and dynamic way. This is no coincidence. Goto-san was one of the best unit designers. In 1969 he was joined by Takajo-san, a famous critic which insisted that reproduced sound had to be identical to the original sound. They used live acoustic performances in the listening room as a reference.Goto units are build without any compromise and therefore certainly not cheap. But the level of realism in music reproduction which is possible with these units is extremely rare.

Goto focusses on drivers only and therefore do not produce finished cabinets. To build a good horn system requires a lot of experience and skill. Horn systems usually sound a bit horn-like, they tend to throw the sound towards you, in your face. But a good horn system doesn't sound like that at all, it has no horn character, no forwardness. It just reproduces the live soundstage as recorded, it can reproduce a small intimate recording as well as a huge orchestra with impressive dynamics. If you don't like horn systems, you probably haven't heard a proper one yet.
